🍞 Once Upon a Newspaper Clipping... πŸ“°

Hi friends!

This past week was a big one at our house. My daughter had an audition on Friday for a local production of Anastasia, and she got a part! She has been singing around the house ever since, and I love it. Our weekends are about to get a lot busier with rehearsals, but I'll still find time to make yummy new recipes.

Here's what's new this week:

🍞 Dorothy Dean's Bread Dressing
I found this in an old newspaper clipping from my hometown. It's golden on top, soft and buttery in the middle, and exactly what you want on your Thanksgiving table.

And an old favorite to go with it:

πŸ₯“ Green Beans Almondine with Bacon
Every plate of dressing needs a little green next to it. These green beans get toasted almonds and crispy bacon, so even the veggie skeptics at your table will go back for more.

I know it's only September, but I'm already dreaming about Thanksgiving dinner! Thank you so much for following along with me every week. It means the world that you let me share my kitchen, my family's recipes, and little moments like this one with you. Hit reply and tell me: what's the one side dish that has to be on your holiday table?

Warmly,
Heidi (aka Lulu)

Hi friends! πŸ‘‹ My daughter and I marched in the parade for our local fall festival this weekend! Then we went back to the festival today to wander around. It was so cozy and fun. We came home with caramel kettle corn and a few other goodies, and I'm not sure how much of it will survive until Monday. After a day like that, all I want is a big bowl of soup and a warm slice of homemade bread. So this week I'm sharing two of each. Mix and match however you like! πŸ₯£ Classic Minestrone Soup Loaded...

Hi friends! It's finally fall, and I couldn't be happier about it! The mornings are cool, the heat is gone, and I've been dying to turn my oven back on. Sweatshirt weather is my favorite time of year, and I've already started thinking about what I'm making for Thanksgiving. Here's what's new and updated this week: 🌽 Corn Pudding: NewIt's creamy, a little sweet, and easy to make. It's a side dish that everyone loves. I think it's going to be on my Thanksgiving table for years to come. Corn...

Hi friends! πŸ‘‹ We went to the county fair the other night, and I think that's officially the start of fall for me. We saw all the animals. The goats, the cows, the bunnies with ears longer than my arm, and my friend's llamas, who were looking very proud of themselves. We even saw kangaroos and a porcupine! Then we ate our way through the fairgrounds, because what's the point of going if you don't come home a little too full? My husband got a deep-fried strawberry shortcake, which might be the...
